Training Like an Olympic Runner

This course is designed for those who want to train like the world’s best athletes. This course has increased physical activity and provided great insight into running techniques and training theory. Training Like an Olympic Runner covers four in-depth units in key topics: Active Dynamic warm-up, sprint and acceleration technique, velocity based/strength training, and physiological understanding. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field and receive guidance on applying the concepts learned in Training Like an Olympic Runner to their training regimen. Professional athletes are featured in the demonstration providing great examples of the very detailed drills. This course will answer the questions of How and Why to improve. This course is an excellent opportunity for those who want to take their training to the next level.

Our expert trainers will help you learn the proper techniques to get the most out of your workouts, and our state-of-the-art equipment will keep you challenged and motivated. The course is divided into 4 units, providing different services to the learners. Reach your fitness goals like an Olympic runner.

In this lesson we will start the process of an active dynamic warm up. You will also learn the Basic anatomy of the muscle groups that make up the core. In the demonstration portion you will learn and execute a number of exercises to strengthen, develop and activate the core muscle group.

In this lesson we are building on lesson 1 core activation, you will learn the difference between open and closed chain exercises and perform them with the guidance of coach JASON P BEAN instruction.

Continuing to build on the Dynamic warm-up by adding some great exercises aimed at opening up the range of motion of your joints as well as challenging your general coordination.
In this lesson you will learn the difference between stability and balance. While you are continuing to build towards a complete Active Dynamic warm-up, this lesson will teach you awesome exercises to help increase balance and stability.
Find some room to run!! In this lesson you will start to execute runs as well as different movement as a part of the warm up.
Everyone needs an opportunity to rest, but not at the risk of losing fitness. In this lesson you will learn ways to allow for rest and recovery, while remaining active.
In this lesson you will learn a few of the many ways you can make changes to your warm up in order to best fit you as a person. While the active dynamic warm up will be performed in its entirety, Some small changes you decide to make could change your focus completely.
In this final lesson of unit 1 you will be provided with 3 different examples of dynamic warm-ups. You will have to look back on previous lessons in order to recall the names and execution.
In this lesson you will learn what Maximum Velocity is all about. You will also learn the positions most desired when executing. This is the crucial lesson in changing some of the concepts that might be creating bad habits
This lesson teaches you the first drill set in order to execute Maximum Velocity. You will learn to use your imagination to create a desired change in technique.
The 2nd step in obtaining better Maximum Velocity Sprint mechanics. This lesson teaches a great drill progression and gives a great visual example.
This lesson introduces another side of the Sprint stride. You will learn a drill that is sure to teach you a necessary pattern for Sprinting.
This is a great lesson teaching a drill that is the most popular on the track-and-field circuit. In this lesson you will learn to combine not just motor patterns but also anticipatory skills in the form of rhythm.
This lesson teaches you how to build your speed. You will learn a series of drills to help put you in a great position in order to continually propel your body forward.
In this lesson you will learn a skill that is largely over looked, bridging the gap between Maximum Velocity and Acceleration.
In this lesson you will learn about track-and-field Sprint Starts and many other interesting facts that are sure to increase your knowledge of Sprinting.
Defining what the difference between lifting weights and training with purpose as Olympic runners train.
Standing long jump is a staple of any Olympic Sprinters velocity based training. It is a great measurable of explosive power. In this lesson you will learn how to properly approach standing long jump.
In this lesson you will learn a staple velocity based exercise that is used to help with the initial starting action.
This drill is often done by sprinters as well as Olympic throwers. This is a great explosive movement that is sure to challenge your coordination as well as increasing your explosiveness and power output.
In this lesson you will learning to create power from the ground while twisting the hips. This velocity-based exercise is great for isolating each hip joint in order to maximize power gains.
Great explosive drill that mimics ground preparation and ground contact time of sprinting.
Bounding is a plyometric velocity based exercise that is tried and true. Bounding is used all over the world for sprinting, jumping, and overall explosive power output training.
If you are tired you can use this week to actively recover. If you are feeling good try giving this velocity base plyometric drill a try. This movement is very difficult, but once mastered it is a great coordination and power element… as well as an intro to triple jump.
